Importance of Vulnerability

"Vulnerability is basically uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure."

Dr. Brown

When you think of the word, do you think about it in a negative way? You shouldn't because vulnerability allows you to be real.  Being vulnerable with yourself, first allows you to peel back the layers and see your "TRUE" self.  We tend to put on a mask, especially in the social media age and pretend that we are okay and nothing bothers us.  BUT when we decide to get real with ourselves then just maybe "FREEDOM" will take over.

Vulnerability allows you to say "I Need Help", "I Am Sorry", "I Own Up To My Wrong", I MASK MY PAIN" or even "I DESIRE CHANGE".  Being vulnerable is not easy and perhaps one of the hardest things to do is, face the real you.  Know that it is okay to be vulnerable and say that you are not okay.  Vulnerability does not mean you are weak, but it does means you are "AWARE" of the "REAL" you.  Accepting vulnerability not only allows us freedom but it also allows for better relationships with those that we love.

I challenge you to sit down for 5 minutes and just write down how you are feeling about things in your life.  Remember you are writing nonstop for at least 5 minutes (No Cheating).  After your time is up, choose one area to make a change in and form a SMART goal (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely).  Once you acknowledge that things are wrong then you have to apply some action.  Take some time, get to know who "You" really are underneath the mask. No one wants to bare it all or be naked, welllllll LOL ( I had to have a little humor because I'm silly). BUT IT'S WORTH IT!!
